Standards and recommendations of quality in healthcare units

Documents that set out standards and recommendations of quality of the priority units of the National Health System’s (NHS)

They are made by initiative of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and by the Deputy Direction General of Quality and Cohesion, in collaboration with groups of experts representing professional associations more closely linked to each of the different units, as well as other outstanding health professionals by his experience and knowledge.

Standards and recommendations of quality do not have a normative character for the approval of opening and the performing of this type of unit.

Its main objective is to put at the service of administrations, managers - public or private - and professionals in the health field, criteria for ensuring the safety and quality of these units.

Standards and recommendations of quality serve to key aspects of the unit such as: the security and rights of the patient, organization and management, physical structure and resources.
